My First Module

The first module I created for the unit Sydney and I are making on increasing patterns for Grade 2s was centred around extending increasing number patterns on a 100 Chart.

Here is a video that Sydney and I created which shows our Google classroom and explains the layout of our course:

I created my module as an activity that would go with Lesson 2. The module I created includes a lesson description, a video to activate previous knowledge, a rubric to show how students would be formatively assessed, an instruction video, and an interactive Google drawing. Based on need, this module could be used as an in-class learning activity, extra practice at home, or for students who have missed school.

This is actually the video that I created as instructions for the students but it will give you a good idea of what is included in the module I created (this video is included in the instructions under “Extending Patterns on a 100 Chart” but you won’t see it on this video because I was in the process of making the video):

  1. This looks really good! I love how user-friendly it is for the students. It is amazing how much more they are learning beyond the math curriculum here. This is also a great tool for parents to be able to reiterate strategies you use if they are practicing with their kids at home because sometimes there is a disconnect between the way parents do things and how teachers are instructing students to approach things, so the opportunity for consistency by using your video is great. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  2. I really liked the way you explained all the things. Google Classroom is a great tool, both students and teachers can use this tool with ease. One platform where we can do learning as well as assess the students.

  3. Good Job Stacey! I really enjoyed your course module. I wish our country has this kinda math class for our students!!! Indeed, your course module expresses appreciation for the user-friendliness of the tool for students and the effectiveness of its teaching beyond the mathematics curriculum. The module also provides an opportunity for parents to reinforce the strategies used in the classroom. This is particularly helpful since sometimes there is a difference in the approach between parents and teachers.
